1989-2003 Principal Tower Hamlets College

Annette was appointed to open Tower Hamlets College in the East End of London in 1989. In challenging circumstances the College moved from being at the bottom of the education league table to its current status as a nationally recognised ‘Beacon’.

As Principal, Annette:

	Led and developed a strong and committed staff team
	Encouraged a value-led ethos focussed on students
	Saw student numbers grow from less than 1000 to over 8000 and their achievements reach and exceed national averages
	Directed an imaginative £40m building programme to time and budget
	Managed a £24m turnover consistently rated financial health status “A”
